Happy Halloween!
She was going to be a tiger, but ended up a wrinkly lion (or possibly a very cute Shar-Pei.) But since it's the Year of the Tiger and she has the heart of a lion we're saying she's a Liger.

Day in the life - 5 months!
Don't tell Zadie, but the book says it's only for 1-3 year olds.
You're hired! Our new personal assistant. Zadie's in charge of smiling, squawking, and overall happiness at Nakashentow Studios. She's doing a great job so far.

Zadie loves chico
We stayed in Chico for the week. The weather was perfect and we were able to relax and visit with friends and family. Sadly, we didn't get to see all of the plays at the Butcher Shop. Maybe next year we'll make it through a full night of entertainment! Zadie really thrives in warmer weather. She really started to chat it up this week - especially when the Davis-cousins came to visit! We miss you Nor Cal.

Day in the life
The little Z-Bird is learning all sorts of new things. She got a Baby Einstein a week ago and she can't get enough of it. She loves all of the hanging sea creatures, colors, textures and sounds. She sings with us everyday - row row row your boat and little bird are her current faves. Although, we still sing the theme song to Indiana Jones all the time (yeah, there aren't any words to this song, so we say Zadie over and over again) "zadie-zadie, zadie zade, zadie-zadie. zadie zade." She loves it. She's also rolling onto her tummy, pulls herself up when you hold her hands so she can sit up. She wants to get moving...soon my love, soon.

Day in the life: 11 weeks
We just had to post the "mighty fists" photo. Zadie has some "rock 'em sock 'em" moves. Dan thinks she has really big hands. My theory....I think she'll grow into them. You know, just like when puppies have big paws, ...well, she has big hands. She'll grow into them, right? :)

Chico visit
Ah, three days of warm bliss with the family. Mum and dad came down the hill and hung out with us at the Kowta casa. We swam in the pool (Badu too - by accident!) and soaked in as much sun as humanly possible. It was so nice to get out of the cold and foggy city! We ate fresh veggies from the farmer's market and grandma's garden (both grandma's have impressive gardens!) It was pretty clear that Zadie loved the warm weather. She was happy to be free of blankets, swaddles and socks. We can't wait to go back in September!

10 weeks
Look who's talking. Ms. Zadie is starting to say oooh and aaah. She's also trying to figure out her laugh. She's going to be a chatty little lady. Very exciting. On a side note, we're still dealing with reflux - barf central here at the home-front. Poor little bean. Hopefully at the 12 week mark things won't be as projectile. (fingers crossed).

Mom came to visit this week for a couple of days
Nothing like having grandma come down to hang out (especially since Dan had to fly up to Portland for a night). We actually had a warm sunny afternoon on Wednesday and sat out on the deck under the umbrella until the evening fog rolled in. Zadie enjoyed some much needed warmth and fresh air. Thanks for coming down and helping out mom!

First road trip - SF to Petaluma
We made it out of the fog-filled city to some much needed warmth. Pat & Patti had the whole family over! It was great to see everyone.
